Corner Entertainment Center Alternatives
More and more families today are spending thousands of dollars for their home entertainment systems. Most families consider their TV room or entertainment rooms the most important part of their home. Families take pride in showing off to friends, neighbors and relatives how big and how loud their entertainment setup is. Before, the bigger the system means the better system they have, television sets were bulky and screens were big while audio systems are huge and more speakers means its better because it is louder.
From Center to Corner
Aside from working with small spaced rooms, use of smaller and slimmer entertainment systems may also be used for a change of style or improvement of such rooms. One new and specific space-saving style that is gaining popularity lately is by moving the typical center orientation system to a corner entertainment center. Said style is being used by many because of the new style it gives in a room and of course its space saving properties.
Smaller is Better
Previously, bigger was always better and most entertainment systems need big spaces or rooms to accommodate their large and bulky sizes. Especially for surround systems wherein several speakers should be installed all over the room in order to fully enjoy its sound quality. But with today’s limited living space a new trend in entertainment systems are gaining popularity. This is wherein smaller and thinner systems are more practical and more space=saving.
Alternative Entertainment Centers
Use of big entertainment systems is okay as long as the space allows it, but how will one create an entertainment system if room doesn’t even have a free wall to install it into? Most houses today have windows, fireplace, doorways and the like that could prevent installation of almost anything. In order to get over this problem, the use of a corner TV stand can help in setting up one’s entertainment system.
More Free Space
Typical entertainment systems are located mostly on the center of rooms and when the notion of being bigger is better, such rooms would surely have a feel of being too crowded. To promote free traffic flow and more space in a room, setting up a corner entertainment system is the answer. These systems are snuggly fitted on wall corners resulting to more spaces in any room. Unused corner spaces can actually become room accents or main focus because of entertainment systems installed.
Make it More Interesting
When one thinks of normal entertainment systems, a common notion is that systems should be located in the center and parallel against the wall. But if you ask modern interior designers this always makes rooms look uninteresting and static. Most designers prefer to use a diagonally oriented corner entertainment center to create more interest in any room. Bulky and large systems can still be used yet they make rooms look modern and spacious.
More Family Interaction
Most entertainment systems are located on family rooms and typical focus of systems are wide and enormous screen TV’s. But if family time is the real goal when members stay within these rooms, then the big TV certainly is a big distraction. Such rooms usually promote one-on-one time with the TV and not actually family time. Use of corner entertainment systems can make family rooms interesting but still promote what family rooms are really for, which is family bonding and interaction.
Multi Function
A corner TV stand is not limited for TV use only; it functions the same way as normal center entertainment systems. Other things can be placed like DVD players, CD players and the like but with the many designs available, such stands can be used for other purposes as well. Aside from entertainment systems, other stuffs like picture frames, flower arrangements, and other decorations can make corner spaces into interesting focal areas.
